4 Things to Do for 4th of July in Las Vegas

Las Vegas is one of the top destinations for holiday trips. On 4th of July in Las Vegas, there are tons of things to do. From firework shows to lake hangouts, Las Vegas (and the surrounding areas) offer everything you need to celebrate America’s birthday. Celebrations start a week before the big day and there are many things you can do to make your trip to Las Vegas memorable during this time of the year.

Following are 5 things to do for 4th of July in Las Vegas:

Family Camping at Lake Mead

Many families head to Lake Mead to enjoy the classic family camping experience that involves renting a boat and splashing in the water. You may choose from one of the many campgrounds around Lake Mead, or hit the backcountry and camp in less populated areas. Keep in mind that fireworks are not permitted and if the weather condition is bad, then you may not be allowed to have a campfire either. Always light your campfires in designated areas.

Local Parks for Daytime Amusements

Local parks are your best bet for daytime amusements with your family. These amusements include food vendors, live entertainment, children’s activities, etc. Boulder City, a small town situated southeast of the Strip, holds an annual Damboree which starts with a community pancake breakfast. Other festivities include a parade, fireworks display, etc.

Check Out the Fireworks

Las Vegas lights up even more 4th of July, thanks to many people setting off fireworks from their backyards. But if you want to watch the pros do it, then Station Casinos has got you covered. Check out the traditional shows at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, or head to Red Rock Resort in Summerlin where they shoot them off from the casino roof.

Rockets Over the River

Drive south to Laughlin on both June 29th or July 4th for a truly breathtaking fireworks display. True to the name, the rockets shoot over the river, letting you experience not only the show in the sky, but also the reflection in the water. All of this is synchronized to music blasted from the surrounding casinos.
