Dragon Castle Books
A family owned and operated bookstore, Dragon Castle Books opened in September, 2014, and has been a staple of North Las Vegas ever since. They sell a wide variety of books, from classic literature to art to political science and history, but their speciality is in science fiction and graphic novels. They’re located at 3142 N Rainbow Road.
Writer’s Block
Downtown’s unique, hip little bookshop, Writer’s Block is a great place to pick up your favorite book or find some new ones to enjoy. They sell only new books, along with journals, planners, and little odds and ends. They also host a multitude of events, so be sure to check out their calendar! They’re located at 1020 Fremont St.
Amber Unicorn
One of the largest used bookstores in Vegas, Amber Unicorn has everything from sci-fi to classics to cook books. Don’t let the entrance fool you – Amber Unicorn actually has 2 rooms, and you need to ask the lovely people who work there to show you in. That’s where they keep the theatre books, among others. BooksOrBooks is a neat little shop with an impressive mystery and fiction section. What they lack in size they more than make up for in inventory, and you can spend hours perusing this bookstore. They also sell knick knacks, bags, and journals. They’re located at 3460 E Sunset Rd.
Bauman’s Rare Books
If you’re looking for something a bit older, or just a bit more expensive, Bauman’s is the place for you. They only sell rare books, but have everything from poetry to history to classics. See first edition Virgina Woolf books, or an 1805 First Edition Of New American Cookery, The Second American Cookbook. The books here make for an amazing gift, for yourself or someone else! Kid’s Books Vegas
Kid’s Books Vegas does what it says on the tin – it sells children’s books. They’re a bit unique, in that they’re by appointment only, and you have to commit to spending at least $20 or buying 20 books. But if you’re a bit hard up for cash, it’s a great place to get a huge bundle of books for cheap. They also offer discounts to schools and other programs.
