Las Vegas Lights Soccer Team – A Primer

The American professional soccer team of Las Vegas is known as Las Vegas Lights FC. This soccer team has made its debut in USL (United Soccer League) in 2018.

Head Coach

Las Vegas Lights FC is led by head coach Isidro Sanchez. Working with his father, the technical director of Lights FC Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, also known as El Chelis, Isidro Sanchez has gotten the team to a great start. Before his carrier as a coach, Sanchez played professionally for Puebla FC (his hometown club) in Liga MX. He also represented Canada in the qualifying games of Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Key Players

Following are the key players of Las Vegas Lights FC:

Isaac Diaz

Isaac Diaz is the diminutive winger of the team who is great on the ball. He was eye-catching during the open training and preseason matches.

Freddy Adu

Adu was once dubbed the next Pelé. He is making another stop in his long soccer career. Although he does not possess the same physical traits, balance, or speed that he once did, but Adu is more than capable of providing expert leadership and occasional late minutes.

Sammy Ochoa

Sammy Ochoa has been a proven goalscorer in the league with Sacramento Republic and Tulsa Roughnecks. His scoring will be crucial to the success of Lights FC.

Daigo Kobayashi

Daigo Kobayashi is an MLS veteran. He has the skill to distribute the ball from the backline to the attack. In the preseason, Kobayashi was a positive performer.

Joel Huiqui

Joel Huiqui will provide leadership on a backline because this defender has experience with the Mexican national team.

Home Pitch

Cashman Field is the home pitch of Las Vegas Lights FC. The team plays their home matches there. The stadium is shared with Las Vegas 51s, the Triple-A baseball team. Lights FC hosted their first-ever match at this stadium on Feb. 10. It was an exhibition match against MLS club Montreal Impact.

2018 Season Prediction

Based on the preseason performances of the club, the Las Vegas soccer team will come short of the games in the first season. Although they promised a high-scoring attack, but the soccer team seems to lack the players to power that. But it will be considered a success as long as Lights FC entertains their hometown crowd.
