Your flight takes you past the Hoover Dam, one of the most incredible feats of modern day engineering. The Hoover took over 3 million cubic yards of concrete in order to reach completion – enough to pave a highway from one side of the country to the other.

Crossing the shimmering waters and sandstone shorelines of Lake Mead is one of the most interesting parts of your journey to the Grand Canyon. Hoover Dam formed Lake Mead. It still has the largest capacity of any reservoir in the nation. It’s the largest man made lake in the United States. The thousands of plants and animals that reside in this area have all learned to apart to the unique weather conditions of the region.
As you draw closer to the Grand Canyon, you can also follow the bending path of the Colorado and take in views of a river that is 1,450 miles long and flows at a rate of over 800 million gallons per minute.
Ever found yourself wondering why the Grand Canyon is one of the world’s seven natural wonders? Take time out to soar through its landscape and find out for yourself. Its sheer size and geologic coloration will take your breath away. The canyon is a mile deep and 18 miles wide. Explore its landscape from a whole new perspective.
